His collegiate career showed tremendous promise before injuries unfortunately cut short his time on the mat.

At Maryville, Whitted quickly established himself as a competitor with national-caliber abilities. His technical prowess and competitive drive made an immediate impact on the program, though his full potential at the collegiate level remained unrealized due to injury setbacks.

Despite these challenges, Whitted's influence on the Maryville wrestling program extended beyond his competition record. Teammates and coaches alike recognized his championship mentality and technical understanding of the sport, qualities that made him a valuable presence even when sidelined.

PRE-COLLEGIATE DOMINANCE

Whitted arrived at Maryville with one of the most impressive high school resumes in the nation:

  • Three-Time State Champion, demonstrating remarkable consistency at his state's highest level of competition
  • NHSCA National Champion, claiming victory at one of the most prestigious high school tournaments in the country
  • Fargo National Champion, winning the nation's most respected freestyle wrestling event

These accomplishments placed Whitted among the elite echelon of high school wrestlers nationally and marked him as a prospect with limitless potential.
